The programs will help parents deal with child raising issues.
RUMFORD – Families That Care, a five-session parent course, will be held starting April 6 at ScrappersDoMaine, 77 Canal St. The classes will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.
The program is sponsored by River Valley Healthy Communities. Katherine Harvey will be the facilitator. Preregistration is required.
Sessions and topics will be: April 6, Introductory and Overview Session; April 13, Getting Started: How to Prevent High Risk Behaviors in Your Family; April 20, Setting Guidelines: How to Develop Healthy Beliefs and Clear Standards; April 27, Avoiding Trouble: How to Say No to Drugs. This session will include children; May 4, Managing Conflict: How to Control and Express Anger Constructively; May 11, Involving Everyone: How to Strengthen Family Bonds.
