BETHEL – In order to accommodate participants in the Northern Forest Center’s conference, Promise of Place, at the Bethel Inn on March 25-27, the Bethel Historical Society’s Regional History Center will be open for extended hours to allow visitation of its special exhibit on Wood and Woods. On March 25 and 26, the time will be from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on March 27 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the O’Neil Robinson House. Baseball meeting

RUMFORD POINT – Rumford Point Community Athletic Association will hold it first annual baseball meeting at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 28. It will be held in the Hanover Town Office on Route 2. Discussion will be held about the Babe Ruth League. Parents from all of the teams are encouraged to attend as officers will be elected for the new year. Involvement from younger families is being sought to take over some of the functions of those that are now moving out of the leagues.

Marley appearing

RUMFORD – Nationally known comedian Bob Marley will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at the Mountain Valley High School. This show is to benefit the class of 2005 at Mountain Valley High School. Tickets will be sold for $15 each and can be purchased at Mountain Valley High School, Dirigo High School, Hannaford in Rumford, Franklin Savings Banks in Mexico and Rumford, All That Jazz and Hair Design in Rumford.

Easter fair

PERU – The Families in Crisis Task Force will hold a fund-raiser Easter Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3 at the Rockemeka Grange Hall, 92 Peru Center Road. Recreation meeting

PERU – The Peru Recreation Committee will hold its first meeting of the year at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 4, at the Grange Hall in Peru. Anyone interested in coaching or helping with the summer ball programs should plan to attend. The sign-up sheets will be available at the Peru School for the summer ball program. Snowmobilers convening

CARTHAGE – Webb River Valley Snowmobile Club will meet Sunday, April 4, at the club house in the Carthage Town Office. There will be a potluck supper at 5 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6 p.m. Members and guests are welcome.
