Dear Sun Spots: First of all, thanks for your help in the past. Our residents at Montello Manor in Lewiston have expressed an interest in seeing a T-ball game. I was wondering if there were a couple of coaches who might bring their teams to play. We have a large courtyard that would be perfect for a game with small children.
Also, our residents would love to see a dance class or cheerleaders who might be willing to come perform their routines for us.
And lastly, I’d like some information on how to set up a foster grandparent program? Please reply to Mary Lou Dow or Denise Lamontagne, Activity Department, Montello Manor, Lewiston, (207) 783-2039. – Denise Lamontagne, Lisbon.
Answer: The Foster Grandparent Program provides part-time (20 hours a week) volunteer opportunities for people with low income, age 60 and older, to serve children with special or exceptional needs in their homes, schools, day-care centers, institutions, hospitals, correctional facilities or specialized programs for developmentally disabled children. Volunteers receive a small stipend.

Dear Sun Spots: I was wondering if anyone in the Rumford area has any knitting books from back to the ’80s? I would also like a knitting hat pattern for four needles. Please call Mary at (207) 364-4045. – No Name, No Town
Dear Sun Spots: Can you please tell me what has happened to the actor who played Cmdr. Brumby of the Austrian Navy who was featured in the television program “Jag”? – Norman Turner, Oxford.
Answer: It appears that Australian actor Trevor Goddard, who played Lt. Cmdr. Mic Brumby in several “JAG” episodes died in 2003. Goddard was found dead at his North Hollywood home of a suspected drug overdose. His girlfriend discovered his body lying on a bed at about noon on Sunday, a Los Angeles County coroner’s office spokesman Craig Harvey said at the time. A preliminary investigation indicated his death was a possible suicide by an overdose of as-yet unknown “illicit, illegal” drugs. Notes were discovered at Goddard’s home, but investigators did not characterize them as suicide notes. Investigators think Goddard died sometime after 9 p.m. on Saturday after having a telephone conversation with a friend from his home, Harvey said.
A former professional boxer, Goddard was discovered while competing at a light-heavyweight bout and asked to appear in a series of beer commercials, according to his Web site. He built a career on portraying villains in many of Hollywood’s top action movies, including tough-guy Kano in New Line Cinema’s “Mortal Kombat.” He was best known to U.S. audiences from his recurring small screen role as Mic Brumby on the military drama “Jag” from 1998 to 2001.
At the time of his death, Goddard had just completed work on the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl” with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.
