JONESBORO (AP) – Theone F. Look, a feisty businesswoman and former legislator, died Tuesday from a brain hemorrhage she suffered after the annual town meeting in her hometown. She was 79.

Look suffered a stroke on Monday and was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she died with her family by her side.

Look served as the Jonesboro town clerk and treasurer for about 24 years, was a Washington County commissioner for 10 years, and was a past president of the Maine County Commissioners Association.

She served five terms in the Legislature in the 1980s and 1990s, and became a leader on fishery and marine issues.

She was also a tireless promoter of Washington County, and continued to run the family business, Carroll Look Construction, with her sons.
