NEW SHARON – The state has charged a New Sharon woman with criminal cruelty to animals.
State prosecutor Andrew Robinson said Carol Murphy was issued a summons.
The state seized about 70 animals, some of them exotic, from the 51-year-old woman’s Lane Road farm this month.
The state alleges the animals were inhumanely treated and lacked food, water and veterinary care.
