SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) – Jean-Marc Pelletier made 29 saves for Springfield as the Falcons tied the Portland Pirates 1-1 on Friday night.

Portland’s Mike Vigilante scored the only goal of the first period on a power play. With the Falcons’ Kiel McLeod in the penalty box for slashing, Vigilante potted his sixth goal at 2:26.

Following a scoreless second period, Springfield’s Goran Bezina netted his 10th goal of the season at 3:17 of the third to knot the score.

Springfield has now been mathematically eliminated from the Calder Cup playoffs.
