WEST ROXBURY, Mass. – Mr. Normand R. Janelle, 73, a resident of 20 Dill St., Lewiston died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, March 26, at the West Roxbury VA Hospital.
He was born in Lewiston, July 21, 1930, the son of Ronaldo and Ida (Perrier) Janelle. He attended local schools, was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict, and had been employed in the local shoe industry. Mr. Janelle had also worked for the food service department at Bates College where he retired in 1992.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church, the American Legion and had also been a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include: three sons, Rodney Janelle of Florida, and Normand Janelle Jr. and Gary Janelle both of Lewiston; two brothers, Ronaldo Janelle and his wife, Rita, of Lewiston, and Lionel Janelle and his wife, Pauline, of Tolland, Conn.; three sisters, Carmen Russell and her husband, Jack, of Auburn, Jacqueline Turmel and her husband, Albert, of Baltimore, Md. and Pauline Safelle of Waldorf, Md.; and two granddaughters, Sara and Dawn Janelle.
He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa, and a brother, Maurice.
