JAY – Selectmen plan to discuss the need to harvest town-owned property on Monday. The property is on Belanger Road, said Town Manager Ruth Marden.

Two people have noted that the wood is going by and should be harvested, she said.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Community Building.

Selectmen will also learn about the Federal Emergency Management Agency money the town is to receive. It is estimated the amount could be $40,000, Marden said, but they know at least $20,000 is coming. The money is expected to go in a highway reserve account.

Selectmen also are being asked to consider increasing the town’s donation to the Independence Day fireworks display.

Marden said the Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Chamber of Commerce sent a letter noting that if donations from the three towns are not increased, the display would have to be cut back.

Jay donates $5,000 annually, Livermore Falls donates $1,500 and Livermore donates about $200.
