AUBURN – Forty-three teams from Western Maine gathered at Edward Little High School to present their solutions to some challenging problems on March 6.

Destination ImagiNation offers five team challenges each year. Teams of up to seven students select which challenge they would like to solve. The teams worked on their solutions all winter, designing gadgets and gizmos, writing, building, painting, practicing and having a good time.

Going on to the state celebration at the University of Maine on Saturday, April 3, are:

DestiNations in Time – Middle: Oxford Hills Middle School, Gray-New Gloucester Middle School.

DestiNations in Time – Secondary: Gray-New Gloucester High School.

The Plot and the Pendulum – Elementary: Dunn Elementary School, New Gloucester; Dixfield/Canton Elementary School.

The Plot and the Pendulum – Middle: Tripp Middle School in Turner; Gray-New Gloucester Middle School.

The Plot and the Pendulum – Secondary: Leavitt Area High School of Turner; Gray-New Gloucester High School.

Cartoon Dimensions – Elementary: Dunn Elementary School; Cape Cod Hill School of New Sharon.

Cartoon Dimensions – Middle: Hartford-Sumner Elementary School, Oxford Middle School.

Cartoon Dimensions – Secondary: Leavitt Area High School, Gray-New Gloucester High School.

UpBeat Improv – Elementary: Dunn Elementary School; Dixfield Elementary School.

UpBeat Improv – Middle: Auburn Middle School, Gray-New Gloucester Middle School.

UpBeat Improv – Secondary: Leavitt Area High School, Gray-New Gloucester High School.

GuessDImate – Elementary: Dunn Elementary School.
