1961 – 2004

RUMFORD – Matthew Clifford McKinney, 42, of 313 Waldo St., died at his home Sunday, March 28, after a short battle with cancer. During his final days, he was surrounded by family and loved ones. His final moments were spent in the arms of his girlfriend. He passed knowing he was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

He was born in Rumford June 29, 1961, the son of Winston and Corrinne Libby McKinney. He attended Mexico and Dixfield schools and attended the Job Corps. Mr. McKinney was a long time employee of Irving Forest Products in Dixfield. He was a member of the Rumford Aerie 1248 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He enjoyed hiking, camping and racing and was an avid Red Sox and Giants fan for many years.

He was a man of few words but never neglected to let the women in his life know they had reached their quota of 9,000. He enjoyed the warm glow of Heineken and the sweet sound of rock and roll.

He was compassionate, loving and a true friend. He loved his country and was a very patriotic man.

Survivors include his companion, Peggy Vaughn of Rumford; a daughter, Laurie Gordon of Bingham; four sisters, Linda V. Scott of Largo, Fla., Andrea J. Carter of Sacramento, Calif., Debra S. Porter of Sherman and Lisa C. Parent of Mexico; four brothers, Michael Hinckley of Buckfield, Bruce Bradeen of Sherman, Sean D. McKinney of Old Orchard Beach and Ryan P. McKinney of Milford, Conn.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents.
