HEBRON – Hebron Community Baptist Church members have been busy during the Lenten season. They held a dinner on Ash Wednesday evening, Feb. 25. Following dinner and discussion Holy Communion was observed.
The following Saturday the Outreach group sold take-out meals of a turkey pot pie, coleslaw, homemade rolls and brownies. Helping in the preparations were Nancy Turner, Pat Jacobs, Judy Chase, Helen Davidson, Brenda Rand and Pastor Meredith Dalessandro. Meals were delivered to senior citizens.
A weekly Bible study takes place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. The account of the Passion in the Book of Mark has been the focus recently. On March 28 parishioners attended the movie, “The Passion of the Christ.”
“The Littlest Donkey” is being rehearsed with Julie Middleton directing. The main characters are Dusty the Donkey, Ian Lejonhud; the Cat, Liam Pulsifer; the Dog, Charlotte Middleton; the Rooster, Brandon Fogg; and narrators, Zachary Lejonhud and Max Middleton. The play will be performed on Palm Sunday, April 4.
The West Area Association will meet at Hebron Community Baptist Church on Monday, April 5, for a 6:30 p.m. supper and program. Part of the program will include a second performance of “The Littlest Donkey.” The association is a group of American Baptist Church congregations that meet monthly at various churches throughout the region.
During Holy Week, April 5 to 11, a Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m. April 8 at the church to commemorate the Last Supper.
Conrad Conant will host the Easter sunrise service. The regular Sunday worship will be held at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. People placing memorial plants on the altar for Easter should contact Velma Farnsworth, 966-2480, or Dalessandro, 966-2694. If no one is at the church, leave a message on the answering machine.

A celebration for Old Home Sunday is being planned for Aug. 22. A program will be presented noting the 211 years since the church was established. It is the sixth oldest American Baptist Church in the state, incorporated Aug. 23, 1791.
Other dates to remember in April include Saturday, April 17, take-out lasagna supper; Monday, April 19, meeting of the Hebron Community Church Outreach Group following the morning service.
