1940 – 2004
LEWISTON – Joseph D. Crowell, 63, of 1007 Sabattus St., Lewiston, died Tuesday morning, March 30, at Central Maine Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Portland on Oct. 18, 1940, the son of Edward S Sr. and Edna D. Wiles Crowell. He was educated in Auburn schools and served in the Army during the Korean War from 1957 to 1962. On Feb. 18, 1977, he married Jeannie Cote.
While living with his wife in Jacksonville, Fla., he worked for his brother of J & D Maintenance until June of 2003. He was past commander of American Legion Post 153 Auburn, and a member of Good Sams Club. He enjoyed woodworking, small engine repair, camping with his wife, kids, grandkids, and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Crowell of Lewiston; two daughters, Diana Marcous and her companion Phillip Mockler of Wales, Terry Chabot and her husband Donald of Lewiston; a son, Lewis Crowell and his companion Robin Levasseur of Turner; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters; and eight brothers.
Predeceased by two brothers.
