TURNER – SAD 52 will host a volunteer recognition evening for all volunteers in the district at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 1, in the Leavitt Area High School cafeteria. The evening will include entertainment and food. The theme will be “The ’70’s.” Volunteers need to contact the Adult Education office at 225-3478 if they are planning to attend.

Troupe to perform

TURNER – The Tripp Middle School Stage Troupe will present “Nothing But the Truth” by Philip J. Anderson at 7 p.m. Friday, April 2, and 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Leavitt Area High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for students.

OES meeting

AUBURN – Mt. Olivet Chapter, OES, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Masonic Hall, Turner Street, to honor 25- and 50-year members. All Eastern Star members are welcome. Refreshments will be provided by Eleanor and Steve Peterson.

Rosary Sodality

LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, for recitation of Rosary in the chapel followed by a meeting in Msgr. Gleason Hall.

Members will finalize plans for the annual card party to be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in the hall. Coffee and refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Seniors meeting

NEW GLOUCESTER – The Remember When Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Amvets Hall. Lunch will be potluck and there will be a raffle. Eric Jensen will entertain with his violin.

Seniors dinner

AUBURN – The First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Hasty Community Center. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. Tickets will be on sale for the April 21 lasagna dinner, and there will be a raffle table. Members should bring their table utensils for the boiled dinner that was postponed from March 17. Bingo will be played after lunch.

Members had a traditional meal and entertainment at the Irish Cabaret on March 19 at Yoken’s Conference Center, Portsmouth, N.H.

AUBURN – A reenactment of the first Androscoggin County Commissioners’ meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the county building. The public is invited.

Easter dinner

LEWISTON – Hope Haven Gospel Mission will provide a free Easter dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at the mission, 209 Lincoln St. The meal will be available to shut-ins as well. They should call 783-6086 for delivery.

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on March 29 were: N/S, first, Grace and Luke Merry, second overall; second, Eleanor Griffin and Paul Beegel, third overall; third, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver, fourth overall; first in B, Barbara Beegel and Allie Boyer, first in B overall; second/third tie in B, Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett with Nancy Farmer and Janice Wolfe.

E/W, first, Renette and Joe Reinhardt, first overall; second, Alberta Turner and Connie Simpson, fifth overall; third, Beverly Dolan and Rosemarie Goodwin; first in B, Marlene and Conrad Violette, second in B overall; second/third tie in B, Hilda Monk and Joe Conley with Claire Lyons and Evelyn Sinclair, third/fourth tie overall in B.
