LEWISTON – The Dr. Paul Fortier Chapter 52 of the Association Canado-Americaine will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 5, in the Senior Citizens Room of the Multi-Purpose Center, Birch Street.

Following the business meeting, members will be entertained by a program of traditional French Canadian “jigs and reels” music performed by fiddler Jessie Gagne-Hall.

A native of the Franco-American community of Manchester, N.H., home to the national headquarters of the ACA, Gagne-Hall will graduate in May from Bates College. She has been playing violin since the age of 4, and since coming to Bates, she has performed with the college’s orchestra and the Freewill Folk Bandits folk music ensemble.

Gagne-Hall will be joined in her ACA appearance by other young Franco-Americans from the area performing on mandolin, guitar and string bass.

More information on the event or the Association Canado-Americaine is available by calling chapter president Gerard Legare at 783-0606.
