GRAY – Tab Benoit will preview the new “Whiskey Store Live” album at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 8, and Friday, April 9, at The Loose Moose, 61 Portland Road.

When blues musicians Benoit and Jimmy Thackery teamed up to cut “Whiskey Store,” their joint studio project of 2002, Blues Revue called it “a rollicking hour-long party.” Since then, they’ve performing collectively as Whiskey Store, including a tour stop at the Unity Centre for Performing Arts in Unity in March 2003.

Besides material from the studio set, this live recording also features a few tracks from each artist’s solo recordings.

“Whiskey Store Live” has the two guitarists, plus saxophonist Jimmy Carpenter, keyboardist Ken Faltinson, bassist Carl Dufrene, and drummers Darryl White and Mark Stutso.
