LEWISTON – New York City singer-songwriter Trina Hamlin will be back in Lewiston for her fourth show at Just Joan’s Cafe. Hamlin combines a blues-folk-rock style that’s expressed with her harmonica, guitar and an absolutely amazing voice.

Her live shows have been described as “acoustic music with a wealth of blues feeling.”

“House concerts have enabled me to make a larger venue seem more intimate,” said Hamlin, who has been touring nationally. “They make you communicate with an audience rather than sing over them.”

Hamlin said it’s good to return to Just Joan’s: “It’s the incredible amount of support for independent music that seems to dwell in Lewiston. Maybe it’s just a love of music for that matter. As an artist it’s always a beautiful thing to play where they want to hear you.”

“But really, it’s Joan’s peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies that bring me back … or maybe the whoopie pies!”

Hamlin’s show is Sunday, April 4, at Just Joan’s Cafe’s downtown location, 33 Lisbon St. Doors will open at 3 p.m. to allow patrons time for an early dinner or desserts. The concert will begin at 4 p.m.

Tickets: $8 in advance, $10 at the door the day of the show. They may be purchased at Just Joan’s Cafe, 782-9635, or Mr. Paperback in Lewiston, 783-2273.
