AUBURN – Lydia M. Provencher, 100, formerly of 12 River St., Lewiston, died early Thursday morning, April 1, at the Odd Fellows Home, following a long illness.

Born in St. Honore, P.Q., May 17, 1903, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Georgiana (Gagne) LeBlanc.

She was a member of the former St. Mary’s Church, Ladies of St. Anne of St. Mary’s, as well as Les Marchandes de Bonheur.

She had been employed in the local shoe industry, until her retirement and was a member of the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

Survivors include one son, Maurice Provencher and his wife, Michelena of Auburn; four grandchildren, Dana and Mary Kempton of Skowhegan, Joanne and Stephen Eastburn of Beverly, Mass., Peter and Linda Provencher of Lewiston and Diane and David Latham of Beaverton, Oregon; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Pitre Provencher, who died Jan. 22, 1955.
