Two Maine girls will be representing the state in the Elks National Hoop Shoot competition to be held April 23-25 in Springfield, Mass.

They are Katie Henrickson of Bath (sponsored by Bath Elks Lodge #934), and Jessica Swanson of Trenton (sponsored by the Greater Ellsworth Elks Lodge #2743). In the recent Regional Hoop Shoot in Nashua, N.H., Henrikson took top honors in the Girls 8-9 Division, and Swanson was first in the Girls 10-11 Division.

Other Mainers involved in the Regional competition were: Dustin James, Farmington Elks Lodge #2430, fifth place, Boys 10-11; Tyler Small, Greater Ellsworth Elks Lodge #2743, fourth, Boys 8-9; Erin Murphy, Portland Elks Lodge #188, third, Girls 12-13; Jeremy Tarr, Presque Isle Elks Lodge #1954, third, Boys 12-13.
