SOUTH PARIS – Bartlett Mills Hutchinson, 65, died surrounded by his family at his residence on Tuesday, March 30.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1938, the son of Loton F. and Iva (Bartlett) Hutchinson in West Bethel. He was raised in the Bethel area and graduated from Gould Academy with the Class of 1956. He later served
his country as a member of the Army, assigned to the National Security Agency as a Russian Code Breaker.
On June 4, 1967, he married the former Priscilla “Bonnie” Thomson.
He graduated from Boston University and also from the New England Institute, where he perfected his skill as a funeral director. He began working as a funeral director with the Morse Funeral Home in Lowell, Mass., and later moved to Maine, where he was employed with the Andrews/Greenleaf Funeral Homes until his retirement in 2001. He prided himself on serving his funeral families with the care and compassion that they needed at a most difficult time of their life.
Mr. Hutchinson is survived by his wife of 37 years; four children, Bartlett and his wife Lisa of Norway, Gavin and his wife Anne of Utah, Lorrence and her husband Peter Pacholski of South Paris and Bradford of South Paris; seven grandchildren, Graden, Keegan, Ryan, Allyson, Jenna, Ashley, and Peter; his sister, Barbara Parsons of Norway; and several nieces, nephews, and great friends.
