AUBURN – The Stanton Bird Club will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the High Street Congregational Church. The featured speaker will be Mike DeBonis, director of Project Canopy. DeBonis will discuss community forestry and Project Canopy, a program from the Department of Conservation’s Maine Forest Service and the Pine Tree State Arboretum. Project Canopy helps Maine communities develop long-term community forestry programs and take advantage of the benefits that trees and forests provide. Stanton Bird Club meetings and natural history programs are held the first Monday of each month, November through May. Meetings are free of charge and the public is welcome. Light refreshments will be available after the meeting.
