AUBURN – Auburn leaders will try to get their business finished Monday night before the sun sets.
The City Council has moved up its regular meeting schedule 30 minutes Monday, from 7 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Sundown Monday is scheduled at 7:10 p.m. The Jewish holy day of Passover is scheduled to begin at sundown Monday.
“We knew that some people might not be able to attend the meeting, if it began later,” City Manager Pat Finnigan said. “We didn’t want to keep people from participating.”
The meeting agenda includes a liquor license hearing for the Prospect Hill Golf Course and council review of its April schedule.
The council will also begin its regularly scheduled workshop meeting 15 minutes early, from 5:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. That agenda includes a discussion of fund balance policies and an executive session concerning appointments to city boards.
“We didn’t realize until too late,” Finnigan said. The city had already advertised the public hearing the golf course, however, and couldn’t reschedule it.
“But it’s really the only official action item, and I don’t think we’re expecting a huge turnout for it,” she said.
