PARIS – The Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, will be held at 4 p.m. (note the new time) Thursday, April 8. Shirley S. Miller will lead the service with music by Forest Perkins, church organist. Everyone is welcome.
Outdoor service
PARIS – The South Paris Baptist Church will hold an early morning outdoor service led by David Knightly at 8 a.m. Easter Sunday, April 11, at Moore Park. In case of rain, the service will be held at the church.
The regular Easter worship will be held at 10 a.m. with a special Easter message by the Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Waugh and musical specials. There will be no Sunday School, but that there will be a junior church program as well as a nursery during the morning service.
At 6 p.m. the choir will present a cantata, “Behold the Empty Tomb” by Joe E. Parks. All are welcome.
Churches join
LOCKE MILLS – The Locke Mills Union Church and Rumford Point Congregational Church will join in a Maundy Thursday service at Rumford Point on Thursday, April 8. A potluck supper at 6 p.m. will be followed by the service.
A sunrise Easter service will be held at Locke Mills Union Church at 5:45 a.m. Sunday, April 11, followed by Easter breakfast. Everyone is welcome. The regular Easter service will be held at 9 a.m. This is a new time for the service and will continue each Sunday from Easter.
Mountain service
NEWRY – An Easter sunrise interdenominational service will be led at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 11, by the Rev. Don Coverdale at the top of Barker Mountain at Sunday River.

Week’s events
NORWAY – The Second Congregational Church, UCC announces Easter week events.
The Maundy Thursday service will begin with supper at 5:30 p.m. followed by service of Tenebrae and communion at 6:30. The Sunday school children will gather after school to prepare the meal.
A Good Friday Walk will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 9, gathering at the Universalist Church. Participants will stop at many of the churches in Norway and South Paris for a reading. The walk will end at the Trinity Lutheran Church in South Paris. All area churches are welcome to participate.
The Easter Sunday sunrise service will take place at 6 a.m. at Brimstone Corner in South Paris (off East Oxford Road). Breakfast will follow at the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Everyone is invited to the Easter worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 11. John Williams will speak. Music will be provided by the Vocal Choir and the Hand Bell Choir. There will be no Sunday school. There will be a nursery attendant available for the young children.
