BIDDEFORD – Biddeford edged Auburn 6-5 in overtime to claim the championship in the recent Biddeford Middle School “B” Hockey Tournament. Shawn Heard tallied 2 goals and an assist for Auburn. Others lighting the lamp were Brenden Giambra, Tim Millett and Matt Reed. Other assists went to Giambra, Millett, Josh Mosher and Cody Violette. Jameson Finch and Adam Lerette shared the net duties.

Auburn won 4 games to reach the finals. Heard and Brewster both tallied 2 goals as Auburn beat Biddeford 9-4 in game 1. Finch and Lerette combined on a shutout in game 2 as Auburn whitewashed Westbrook 8-0. Cory Larue collected 4 goals and 2 assists. Auburn also blanked Saco 9-0 in game 3 as Lerette donned the pads. Mosher notched a hat trick. And in game 4, Larue and Reed each popped 3 goals as Auburn rolled past South Portland 9-1.

Others contributing to the scoring during the tourney were Issac Reed, Bill Brewster, Collin Monette, Matt Gordon, Dillion Lyons, Tom Greco and Ashley Salerno.
