1953 – 2004

FARMINGTON – Carol L. Lane, 50, of Farmington, died Monday morning, April 5, at her home.

Born in Farmington, May 1, 1953, a daughter of the late Herbert Rackliff Sr. and Leona (Oberton) Rackliff, she was a graduate of Mount Blue High School in Farmington, Class of 1972.

She worked many years as a C.N.A. for Orchard Park in Farmington. On Dec. 24, 1994 she married John A. Lane III.

She liked helping other people and volunteering in her community. She enjoyed spending time at camp, going fishing and playing with the family dog, Jax. He will be remembered by those who knew her as a good wife and a caring person, who loved to spend quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband of over nine years and her mother, both of Farmington, she is survived by three sons, Jon T. Cummings and his wife, Melinda of Farmington, Ben A. Cummings of Farmington and Tommy Cummings of Albion; five sisters, Janice Eagan of Norridgewock, Lorraine Burnham of Jay, Beverly Rackliff of Skowhegan, Rosalea Pond of Farmington and Leona Mitchell of Fayette; a brother, Herbert Rackliff Jr. of Oakland; three grandchildren, Auburn, Taylor and Madelyn Hart; a cousin, Nancy McDonald of Farmington; three uncles, Hollis Rackliff of West Farmington, Bernard Rackliff of Weld and Phil Farrington of Temple; an aunt, Avis Mahoney of North New Portland; and several cousins, nieces and nephews
