BETHEL – Nearly 50 Oxford County Republicans met at the Bethel Methodist Church on March 9 for the monthly meeting.

Daniel Schuberth of Bowdoin College, president of the Maine College Republicans, and Andrew Simon, president of the Bates College Republicans, spoke of their work in organizing party chapters on every campus in Maine and assisting with enrollments, literature, drops and party building. They pledged to help the party win at the state and national level through voter identification efforts, literature drops and working phone banks.

Paula Smith of Andover has announced her intentions to run for House District 92, Dave Duguay of Byron is a candidate for county commissioner, District 2.

Other candidates present were: Jim Hamper of Oxford, District 100; Robert Cameron of Rumford, Senate District 14; and Caldwell Jackson of Oxford, Senate District 13; and incumbent County Commissioner Steve Merrill of Norway, Rep. Sawin Millett of Waterford and Register of Probate Tom Winsor, who are seeking re-election.
