AUBURN – Several women have completed leaders training classes in Cub Scouting and have taken over leadership of troop dens.

Because of the large den of Tigers, Sue Breau and Daphene Innes will be the leaders. Heather Clark has been assigned to the Wolf Den. The dens are with Cub Scout Pack 153 of New Auburn, sponsored by American Legion Post 153.

The Cubs are involved in many activities throughout the year and new members are welcome. They take part in parades and visit and sing at nursing homes. The biggest projects of the year is helping veterans at Togus by making crafts for them. The Scouts also collect food for needy veterans. Members recently collected clothes for fire victims and needy veterans.

The Cubs meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153, South Main Street. Anyone having a son between age 7 and 11 can bring them to a den meetings. Boys age 11 and up can attend a Boy Scout Troop meetings the same night.
