AUBURN – Paradise salon and spa, offering services from hair cuts to facials to massages, opens for business Thursday, April 8 at 20 Union St. next to Dore’s Cafe and Market.

The spa is owned by Jennifer Gay, who recently moved here with her husband from Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Four Seasons Salon and Spa. Gay said local people who wanted upscale services such as hers had to go to Portland.

“After doing a lot of research, we chose L-A because there’s no place in the area that provides high quality beauty services the way they should be,” said Gay. “We found so many people going to Portland for those luxurious services.”

Services include hair styling; color and texturizing; nail, waxing and cosmetic services; facials and body wraps; six kinds of massages and packages for men and women. Gay plans to hire a staff of 17.
