JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) – Melody Thomas Scott will blend her roles as daytime actress and museum board member for a charity auction to benefit the Lucille Ball-Desi Arnaz Center in Lucy’s hometown.

Scott, celebrating 25 years as Nikki Newman on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” will raid Nikki’s closet and those of fellow cast members for an April 24 auction to benefit the Lucy museum, where she is a member of the founding board of directors.

“A lot of the ladies like to have the opportunity to bid on Victor Newman’s black T-shirts or Brad’s tie or whatever, so I’ll bring all kinds of things,” Scott said from her Beverly Hills home.

Scott, who calls herself a lifelong Lucy fan, said serving on the board of a center dedicated to preserving the comedienne’s legacy is serious business.

“It’s something we want to last for generations, not just our lifetime,” she said.

An unexpected bonus has been to find relatives in the small western New York city that she had never before met.

“I have family in the cemetery,” she said. “It’s just such an amazing coincidence that it took my love of Lucy for me to rediscover my family in Jamestown.”

Scott will also auction off items from her own wardrobe, including the gown she wore at a CBS bash a few weeks back honoring her 25 years on the show.
