LEWISTON – June Dragoon of Peru has her work on display at the St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Visiting Artist Gallery during April.

Dragoon has paintings in private collections throughout the United States. She also has taken awards and participated in many juried shows.

Although she has studied with a number of well-known artists, she is basically self-taught. She is constantly learning and striving to improve her technique. Painting gives her a new way of looking at the world. Dragoon wants the viewer to feel as though they are entering her paintings. Her work consists of New England landscapes, florals and children.

Dragoon has served as treasurer from 1999 to 2001 and is on the board of directors for the Western Maine Art Group. She is also a member of Upcountry Artist. Her work can be seen in area galleries and sidewalk shows throughout Maine.

Dragoon resides with her husband in Peru. She also owns an art gallery in her home.

For more information on exhibiting at the gallery, call Vyonne Spaar, coordinator, at 784-5323.
