I couldn’t agree more with the letter from Karen Fillebrown (April 3). Her letter was so familiar to me that I felt I had written it myself.

The same thing happened to me on March 17. A truck sped past me on a slippery road and made me move to the shoulder, spin out and hit a tree head on. My airbags deployed, and immediately I thought my car was on fire. The smell and appearance of the powder from the airbags made me totally panic.

I feel that there must be some way for the public to be made aware of these conditions.

I am very thankful that the airbags deployed and agree with Ms. Fillebrown, seat belts save lives.
