JAY – The second annual Terre pis Ciel Franco-American Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at the St. Pierre farmstead on Route 133. The festival will feature ethnic music and foods.

This year’s musical line-up includes the return of Quebec’s La Grand’ Debacle and Jay’s own Fred Legere. Other performers will be Moose Creek Cloggers, The Muddy Bottoms, Don Roy Trio and Maine’s own adopted Quebecois, Josée Vachon.

Franco-American writers like Rhea Cote-Robbins, Doris Provencher Faucher and Annette King will be sharing their works at the writers tent, and children of all ages can vie for the gold in the second annual Farm Games.

Festival director, Adele St-Pierre, invites everyone, Franco-American or not, to join her in celebrating the rich Franco-American heritage prevalent in the towns of Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls, especially in the year of the 400th anniversary of the French presence in North America.

Individuals with talents relative to the Franco-American theme wishing to participate in the festival should contact Adele St. Pierre at [email protected], or by addressing any correspondence to 426 Franklin Road, Jay, ME 04239.

Individuals and/or businesses interested in making cash donations to the festival fund can send checks made out to the Town of Jay/Festival Fund, 99 Main St., Jay, ME 04239.
