Dear Sun Spots: Will you please assist me in applying for senior housing in Lewiston. I am a veteran, 76 years old and made Lewiston my home for the past 65 years. I then retired and went to live in the country. Since I no longer drive I find it necessary to be close to food, medicine and doctors. I am on Medicare and Medicaid. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: When we were getting Martha Stewart’s program in this area there were regular appearances by Mark, a New York pet shop owner with lots of animals. He was wonderful with them and there was talk of him having his own show.
Does anyone know if this ever came about? – No Name, Sabattus.
Answer: According to James at WPME “Pet Keeping with Marc Morrone” airs on WPXT/Ch. 51, also known as “Maine’s WB 51” on Saturdays at 7 a.m. It also airs on WPME/Ch. 35, the UPN affiliate in Portland Sundays at 7 a.m.
In addition, you might be interested in the following biographical information on Morrone:
Born in the Bronx, Marc Morrone and his family moved to Long Island, N.Y., when he was a child. By the time he was 18, his collection of animals had outgrown his parents’ house. So, Marc and his partner, Nick Guerra, pooled their money and in 1978 opened “Parrots of the World,” a pet shop specializing in birds, ferrets and pets other than dogs and cats.
With the success of “Parrots of the World,” Marc was recognized as a pet expert, and was then hired by a local cable television channel as a pet consultant and host of a local television show about pets. The presentation of the different groups of pets interacting with each other as well as the original and helpful information offered made the show an instant success.
When Marc was asked to he a guest on “Martha Stewart Living,” he impressed them with his amazing cast of creatures and pet expertise, and became a recurring guest on the show. Marc shares his animal knowledge of furry and feathered friends with us on Pet Keeping With Marc Morrone.
Marc currently resides in Rockville Center, New York, with his wife and son, and a house full of pets, and still owns and operates his pet shop, “Parrots of the World,” also located in Rockville Center.
Dear Sun Spots: I am a 48-year-old disabled woman. I have a fixed income, which is not enough to pay for my own living and medical expenses. I worked at a prestigious law firm and became disabled at work when a shelf of legal books fell down across my neck and shoulder area. I would like to work out of my own home but am in need of a computer. I would be most appreciative if somebody could donate one. Please feel free to contact Debra at (207) 753-1596. If I’m not home, please leave a message. – Debbie, No Town.
