The recent passage, and subsequent signing into law, of the beer bill by our legislators and governor is an act of stupidity.

I no longer have confidence in our elected officials to do the right thing.

This booze bill allowing beer to be sold on the golf links will open up a Pandora’s box.

Other sports venues, and rightly so, will demand inclusion and put more drunken drivers on the road. It makes a mockery of Maine’s tough OUI law.

The explanation by Gov. Baldacci that it will bring us up to par with other states, create new jobs and bring convention business to Maine is ludicrous.
