I would like to recognize the other state champions in town.

The Edward Little girls ski team won the Class A State Championship this year.

There were no full-page spreads wishing them good luck. There were no marquees in town congratulating them.

There was just a lot of hard work and determination followed by a quiet celebration.

This was the first time since the early 1990s that the girls have brought home the combined title, and the first time ever that the Nordic team has won the state championship.

The girls traveled many miles to find snow this winter and used up lots of toe and hand warmers in sub-zero winds. These girls are passionate about their sports and their teams. They deserve recognition for their effort and their success.
