FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington will present its third annual EXCEL-ebration on Tuesday, April 13. The special event showcases the innovative ways UMF faculty and students use technology in teaching and learning. The presentations will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the North Dining Hall, in UMF’s Oslen Student Center. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s EXCEL-ebration will provide a venue for participants and guests to see a variety of activities and projects that have combined class work and research with technology in creative ways. Attendees will also be able to browse interactive exhibits emphasizing the many facets of UMF EXCEL.

The event will also demonstrate the ways future teachers (more than half of UMF graduates earn their degrees in education programs) are learning to incorporate wireless, laptop technology into teaching providing a glimpse of how the Maine Learning Technology Initiative or Laptop Program and other classrooms will benefit from UMF’s strong, tech-savy teaching graduates.
