LEWISTON – The 12th annual Festival de Joie will feature a return appearance by La Tournee du Bonheur with Jean Guy Piche.
Plans are well under way for this summer’s event celebrating the communities’ rich cultural heritage. This years festival dates are Prelude 2004, Tuesday to Thursday evenings, July 27 to 29; festival, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 30, 31, Aug. 1.
The weeklong activities will include concerts, a parade and three days and evenings of continuous entertainment on three stages at Railroad Park. Prelude 2004 will again take the stage on Lisbon Street. Several new features are being planned.
Anyone interested in participating in the entertainment, parade, Prelude 2004, crafters and vendors are asked to contact festival officials at 782-6231. The festival needs 200 volunteers in order to assure its success.
The first volunteer meeting for this year will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 150 East Ave. Everyone is invited.
