BIDDEFORD – Harold P. Hanson, 92, a resident of Berwick Road, Ogunquit died Sunday, April 11, at the Southern Maine Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mr. Hanson was born in Wells, on May 10, 1911, a son of Orville and Ruth Hood Hanson. He attended Kennebunk schools. He worked at the Portland Shipyard during World War II.

Mr. Hanson was employed by the former Kesslen Shoe of Kennebunk for 38 years as a cutter. He also worked for National Woodworking of West Kennebunk for several years.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He is survived by his second wife of 39 years, Eleanor Hamilton Hanson of Ogunquit; two stepdaughters, Marlene Damren of North Berwick and Faye Friend of Ogunquit; a brother, Donald Hanson of Sanford; a sister, Gladys Bodwell of West Kennebunk; a niece, Joann Kippax of Greene; one grandniece, Abigial Herroiz of Portsmouth, N.H.; one great-grandniece, Arielle Kippax and one great-grandnephew, Ian Kippax both of Greene.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Georgian Bartlett Hanson in 1961.
