LIVERMORE – In celebration of the beauty of the setting, the culture and the period in history it represents, the Washburn Norlands Living History Center invites area artists to participate in the upcoming art contest that will conclude with a reception for the artists of the winning entries and a benefit auction on Nov. 6.

Each artist is invited to contribute artwork capturing the beauty of Norlands, measuring up to 24-by-36-inches.

Each entry will be judged by an independent judging panel. In collaboration with Belmont Studios Inc., Norlands will offer a full resolution calibrated scan as well as 8-by-10 and 4-by-5 print files and also four sizes of Web versions of these files on compact disc for each entry.

Artists agree to release rights to their artwork, up to 100 high quality signed Iris Giclee prints and up to 400 additional Iris prints.

The grand prize award will be $1,000 with four runner-up prizes of $250 to be awarded. Registration fees for participation in the contest are $40 until May 31 and $50 from June 1 through Sept. 13.

Call 897-4366 to arrange access to the site. For other contest information, including volunteering, being a sponsor, or the address to send financial contributions, call Siiri Stinson at 645-4536 or e-mail questions to norlandsartcontest@tds.net

All entries must be received by Sept. 13.
