AUBURN – The Brodsky brothers earned high marks for the Twin Cities Swim Team at the New England “Y” Championships. Andrew Brodsky dropped more than two-tenths of a second for a seventh place finish in the 14-Under 100-free. He also came in fifth in the 50-free. Brother Tim Brodsky, 11, sliced his time to 29.78 in the 12-Under butterfly, placing seventh. He also finished sixth in the 100-fly by cutting 5 seconds to 108.94, and was fifth in the 50-free. Tim was again the only 11-year old who qualified for the U.S. Zone Championship Finals held in Manassas, Va. He was accompanied by his coach, Tom Manduca, who was was a Zone assistant coach.

Another meet standout was Derek Morris who qualified for the NE Finals in the 50-back.

In the State Meet, the Twin Cities Swim Team of the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA and Lewiston YMCA, finished third overall. The following earned first or second place finishes: Michelle Morin, second, Girls 8-Under, 25-free; Samantha Goulette, second, Girls 8-Under, 100-intermediate; Allison Cary, second, Girls 14-Under, 100-free; Emily Lewandowski, first, Girls 14-Under, 100-back; Andrew Brodsky, first, Boys 14-Under, 50-free.

Others performing well: Peter Tirabassi, Cameron Provencher, Stephen Lolmaugh, Dustin Morris, Katie Tirabassi, Nicole Cary, Melissa Paione, David Tirabassi, Colby Miles, Alex Munsell, Alyssa Thomas, Derek Morris, Tim Brodsky, Stephany Perkins, Isla Hansen.

Top team relay finishers: Boys 8-Under, first, 100-medley, Manduca, Morris, Tirabassi, Davies; first, 100-free, Manduca, Lolmaugh, Tirabassi, Provencher; Boys 14-Under, second, 200-free, Gagnon, Blais, Hawley, Manduca; Girls 14-Under, second, 200 medley, Lewandowsk, Perkins, Stocker, Cary; Girls 200 free, second, Saucier, Russell-Bickford, Marichal, Jacobs-Pratt.
