BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Orrin E. Russell, 96, of Gould Road, Lisbon Falls died March 30, in Brooksville, Fla.

He was born in Island Falls, on June 16, 1907, the son of Orrin and Catherine Russell. He attended local schools there. He also served in the United States Army.

On June 8, 1940, he married Leah E. Scott in Smyrna Mills. He worked as a Board Mill Foreman at US Gypsum for many years until his retirement.

He was an avid Red Sox fan that followed the season very closely never missing a game. He loved deer hunting and trout fishing. He also loved to work in his vegetable gardens which he had right up until the age of 90.

He is survived by three daughters, Linda Russell of Lisbon Falls, Juanita L. and Edwin Smith of Brooksville, Fla., Sandra V. and Roy Massie of Alexandria, Va.; two sons, Blair E. and Karen Russell of Waldorf, Md., and Earl D. and Cathy Russell of Lisbon Falls; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, William Russell of Bath; one sister, Almira Baker of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife on March 30, 2003; and by a granddaughter, Sonya Galarneau.
