LEWISTON – The Lewiston Center for Women, Work and Community is celebrating 25 years of helping women achieve personal, career and financial success. The second annual Weaving the Web resource fair will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, April 16, in conjunction with the 25th anniversary celebration and open house in Room 170 at the Lewiston/Auburn College.
The anniversary celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. The program will include a brief overview of the history of Women, Work and Community in Androscoggin County by Elaine Dunton, former regional manager and current Oxford County trainer; personal stories of Women, Work and Community graduates Mary Sylvain-Leonas, Victoria Binkley and Vicky Bowker; and an overview of trainings and projects by Lewiston Center Coordinator Lisa Daggett.
There will also be an opportunity for guests, participants and partners to share comments about their own experiences with Women, Work and Community.
The statewide organization has been committed to improving the economic lives of Maine women and their families since 1978.
