AUGUSTA – Catherine Elizabeth Ladd, 53, passed away on April 5, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, 11 months after succumbing to a diabetic event during a visit to Boston.

A 30-plus year resident of Boulder, Colo., she grew up and attended high school in Hawaii. She graduated from Pine Manor Junior College and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, where she fell in love with the mountains and lifestyle that Boulder offered.

She cherished her family, her friends and her pets. She loved her home and garden, was an avid music and movie fan, was always reading various books and loved to sing and dance.

She will be lovingly remembered as someone who always brought light and laughter to a room, who was warm and loving and who enjoyed quality time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind her father, George E. Ladd III and his wife, Evelyn Ladd of La Quinta, Calif.; her mother, Elizabeth Dieu of New York City; two brothers, Michael Ladd and his wife, Carolyn Ladd of Wayne and David Ladd and his wife, Donna Ladd of Stuarts Draft, Va.; pets, Sophie, Bruno and Molly; her uncles, aunts and countless cousins who will miss her presence at camp in Wayne; and her cherished friends in Boulder, Colo.

She was predeceased by her stepmother, Dorothy Hoffman.
