ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Simone Bernadette Robert Marcous passed away suddenly on April 10.

She was treasured as a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. A native of Lewiston, she was the daughter of Louis and Philomene Robert and attended local schools.

She was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Mary’s General Hospital in 1948. Always one to put a premium on education, she held a bachelor’s degree in practical science, a master’s degree in education and completed all course work for an additional master’s degree in gerontology.

She lived in St. Petersburg for 25 years and moved to central Florida just one year ago. She served as a dedicated volunteer for the Blessed Trinity Church, while in St. Petersburg and most recently, volunteered for the Altamonte Springs Police Department for the Annunciation Catholic Academy’s Library.

Survivors include her sister, Theresa Robert Nadeau of Brunswick; children, Robert Louis of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Monique Marie (Joe) Bailey of Bethel, William Michel (Allison) of Longwood, Fla.; and many adoring nieces and nephews and heartbroken grandchildren, Danielle, Megan, Weston, Dusty and Corey.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger; and sister, Marcelle Fortin.

She will forever be remembered for her intelligence, compassion, wit and generous spirit.
