WEST GARDINER – The Maine Quilt, an award-winning nationally exhibited quilt designed and created by Gardiner area quilters, will be exhibited at an upcoming quilt show.

The Maine Quilt depicts a coastal scene, including quilted and embroidered flora, fauna and creatures of the woods, fields and sea.

The quilt show, put on by Backroad Quilters of West Gardiner, will include an exhibit of the group’s 2004 “Round Robin” quilts, a quilt raffle, door prizes, demonstrations, sales table and quilt appraisals (for a fee). Hot lunch and desserts will be available.

This eighth annual show will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in the Helen Thompson School on Spears Corner Road

The Backroad Quilters meet two Monday evenings a month from September through June at Christ Episcopal Church in Gardiner. New members are welcome. FMI: call Kay Miville at 582-2653
