WATERFORD – The Western Maine chapter of the Small Woodland Owners Association of Maine will hold a tree-felling workshop for weekend cutters starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Haynes Family Tree Farm on the Sweden Road.

The chapter’s first outdoor meeting of the season will feature a demonstration of the open face notch and bore cut methods of felling. The Certified Logging Professional techniques will be explained and demonstrated along with the safety aspects of felling.

Those attending need to bring hard hats and safety glasses (no chain saws, please). Coffee and doughnuts will be available at 8:30 a.m. The demonstration will be located on Haynes Court off the Sweden Road, approximately two miles from the intersection of Routes 35/37. Signs will be posted.
