BETHEL – A local wildlife photographer and author is to conduct a lecture next week, closing out the Mahoosuc Land Trust’s Local Knowledge Series.

Jennifer Loomis of Greenwood will speak about “Wood Ducks and Other Local Favorites” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, in the Trustees Auditorium of the McLaughlin Science Center at Gould Academy.

The program is free and open to the public.

Loomis has had her photographs published in National Geographic, Audubon and National Wildlife magazines, as well as having an award-winning photograph on display at The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

She has also published a “children’s” book, “A Duck and a Tree,” for ages 8 to 98.

Loomis is expected to sell and sign the book for anyone interested after the lecture, said Trust spokeswoman Beth H. Brough.
