LEWISTON – The Maine House of Representatives Lewiston members are looking for living World War I veterans in Maine.
More than 35,000 Mainers served in World War I between 1917 and 1918, and only four of those known veterans were living in 2002. Members of the Maine House are seeking to find any who are still living today so they may be honored.
Lewiston Reps. Elaine Makas, Margaret Craven, Richard Mailhot, Lillian LaFontaine-O’Brien and Will Walcott are asking that anyone who has information leave a message for Makas at 784-5726 or 287-1400.
