LEWISTON – Anita Y. Larochelle, 70, of 186 Rosedale St. died unexpectedly Thursday morning, April 15, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 2, 1933, the son of Lucien and Marie Anne (Sirois) Larochelle.
She attended St. Peter’s School and later graduated from St. Dominic’s Regional High School Class of 1952.
Having spent most of her life at home raising her children, she was also a longtime employee of Pepperell Mill and had later worked several years at Bradlees Department Store.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church where she greeted people often at the door before and after masses and was also a member of Holy Cross Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and making crafts.
She is survived by her husband, Aurelien “Babe” Larochelle of Lewiston whom she married on July 4, 1959; her two daughters, Suzanne Larochelle of Lewiston and Sonia Whitehouse and her husband Timothy of Sanford; her three sons, Andre Larochelle and his wife Lee of Stamford, N.Y., Brian Larochelle and Denis Larochelle both of Lewiston; her seven grandchildren, Stephanie Bellemore and her husband Adam of Auburn who are expecting Anita’s first great-grandson, Aurelie Delcourt of Portland, Renee and Aaron Delcourt both of Lewiston, Anna, Tatum, and Cedric Larochelle all of Stamford, N.Y.; her sister, Rita Angers of Lewiston; her two brothers, Leonard Angers and his wife Jackie, and Normand Angers all of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Stephen in 1969.
