AUBURN – Sherwood Heights School students in grades kindergarten through two heard Tamra Wight of Poland read from her newly published book, “The Three Grumpies.”

Wight is speaking to Auburn elementary children this month on her writing and publishing experiences.

“It took two years from the time my book was accepted for publishing until I actually got to hold the book in my hands,” she said. Wight said she never met or spoke with the illustrator of her book, Ross Collins, who lives in Scotland. “The publisher tries to match up a known illustrator with a first-time author,” Wight said. Collins has more than 30 books published. This is Wight’s first.
