FARMINGTON – SAD 9 directors unanimously voted to expel a Mount Blue Middle School student last week.

Directors concluded, after a hearing that neither the student nor parents attended, that “expulsion of this student is necessary for the peace and usefulness of the Mount Blue Middle School.”

The student and student’s parents had been given notice of the hearing, according to the board’s minutes of April 13.

The administration reported on an ongoing course of conduct of deliberate disobedience, disruption of educational setting of the school and danger of injury to himself, staff and students, the minutes stated.

The Student Handbook requirement of a code of conduct was made known to student and parent but the student continued on the course of disruption.

The conduct constitutes deliberate disobedience, the minutes stated.
